Michael Angelo Batio Guitars page 1

Michael has had 3 primary builders of his guitars throughout his entire career. They are: Dean Guitars, Wayne Charvel and Grover Jackson. Master guitar builder Yuriy Shishkov has also made several instruments for Michael. Pictured below are some of the guitars in MAB’s extensive collection.

Above is a photo of the MAB1 Armorflame. This is Michael’s signature guitar built by Dean Guitars.

For more information on Michael’s signature guitar go to the MAB1 Armorflame section of our site.

Above is a photo of Michael holding his signature guitar at the Dean facility in Florida in June, 2007.

Custom made USA 29 fret guitar built by Wayne Charvel. The top is made from Military aircraft aluminum. It was designed by MAB and called The “Rocket” Guitar.

Custom USA “Swamp Ash” Tele built by Grover Jackson for MAB.

To the left is a Vintage 1987 USA “Photon” MIDI guitar with the controller (pictured above). Every string on the guitar is a “B” string for faster tracking although the guitar does not track fast at all. This is one of the earliest MIDI guitar systems ever made.

Pictured to the right is MAB’s 1997 USA custom shop Fender Strat. It has a quilted Maple neck and SRV “Texas Special” pick-ups. It is hard to tell in this photo, but the guitar is painted with a finish called “Champaign Sparkle”.

Pictured above are the 2 original, remaining guitars from MAB’s famous 4 necked “Quad” Guitar. The “Quad” was designed by Michael and built in the USA by Wayne Charvel. These are the top 2 and are 7 strings. Pictured to the right is what the original “Quad” looked  like with the other 2 necks. The guitar was originally built by Charvel through Gibson (as seen on the headstocks to the right) but Charvel later changed the necks to say “Ritz” which was a company he had started shortly after completing Michael’s “Quad”.

Michael has 5 Double-Guitars in his collection (as well as 2 of the 4 original parts of the Quad Guitar). Pictured below are 4 of them. The 5th and newest is on page 2.

Pictured above: Michael’s custom USA Double-Guitar built by Wayne Charvel for Gibson Guitars. It was originally painted White but renowned air brush artist “Tyler” re painted the guitar to look like a computer circuit board a few years after the instrument was made.

Pictured below: Michael’s custom USA Double-Guitar built by Wayne Charvel for B.C. Rich. It was originally White as well, but re painted the dark Purple color that you see here about a year after the instrument was built.

Pictured to the left is the head stock of the “circuit board” Double-Guitar shown above. The logo is one of the original Gibson Guitars logos that is rarely used or seen today. Wayne Charvel also painted his initials on the the guitar. Both head stocks have the same Gibson logo and WRC signature. Notice the String Dampener on the neck. That is the original and first String Dampener Michael designed.

Pictured above: Michael’s first “prototype” Double-Guitar built by Dean Guitars. It was built in early 2003. This Double-Guitar is the one that inspired the MACH 7 Jet Double-Guitar shown below.
