Michael wrote and filmed a monthly column for Guitar World Magazine for over 3 years, making him the longest running columnist in the history of the magazine. Michael was featured in 40 consecutive issues of Guitar World Magazine! The last installment of Michael’s “Time to Burn” column was in the January 2010, “Dimebag” commemorative issue. We would like to thank Guitar World Magazine for their support of Michael throughout his career.

MAB WON the 2009, 15th annual Guitar World Magazine readers choice award in the BEST SHREDDER category!

Paul Gilbert placed second, Buckethead third, John 5 fourth and finally Herman Li and Sam Totman. Below is a breakdown of the results taken from Guitar World Magazine.

A special thanks MAB Forum Administrator Drew Christoffel, the MAB Forum members and all of the fans that voted for Michael and to Guitar World Magazine for their continued support of MAB.

Michael is also featured in the April 2009 issue (cover to the left and above) in an article naming him as one of the top 25 cult guitarists in history along with Paul Gilbert, Robert Fripp and more. Michael’s “Time to Burn” column is also featured in the magazine as well as the Metal Method DVD’s ad.
